RECOMMENDED: Privileged White People by Christopher K. Ho, currently on view at Forever & Today, Inc. (141 Division Street, NYC) through February 17, celebrates President Bill Clinton’s 1990s, an era of progressive values epitomized by civic programs encouraging youth participation such as Teach for America, Habitat for Humanity and the Peace Corps. For his latest project, Ho draws on his own experiences as a young immigrant from Hong Kong to Southern California and subsequently, as a teen transplant to a New England boarding school, to explore the ethos, and corresponding aesthetics, of white privilege. Ho is an artist, teacher and screenwriter based in New York and has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States and abroad. He received his BFA and BS from Cornell University and his MPhil from Columbia University.

Founded by artists in 1928, SculptureCenter is a not-for-profit arts institution located in Long Island City, NY. We commission new work and present exhibits by emerging and established artists from New York and around the world. Our Tumblr site focuses on emerging artists and work that offers new ways of considering sculpture, or furthers the understanding of the discipline and how it can intersect with other mediums. Content is selected by SculptureCenter’s curatorial staff and guest curators.
