For his performance as part of Söma, Söma, Söma, which was on view at SculptureCenter's previous Manhattan location from June 20 to July 15, 2000, Pope.L consumed pages of an actual issue of The Wall Street Journal sitting atop a large tower mounted with a toilet seat and fishing pole. Pope.L’s practice interrogates society’s claims on the body through various endurance pieces.
